Founder, Optometrist, Glaucoma Specialist

Riddhi Gohel, OD

Dr. Riddhi Gohel is a certified Glaucoma specialist, Therapeutic Optometrist, and the leading doctor behind Wink Optical and Eye Care in Leander, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Science and obtained her Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry, specializing in specialty contact lenses during her rotation in Boston. Dr. Gohel gained extensive experience fitting specialty lenses for patients with conditions like Keratoconus, Corneal Scarring, Post Corneal Transplant, Severe Dry Eye, etc. working her 1st year post grad in Dallas. Shortly after, she transplanted to the Austin area and never looked back. She has been practicing in the Austin and Leander community for 7 years and is excited about bringing her passion to her practice at Wink Optical and Eye Care. Outside of work, Dr. Gohel enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, dancing Bharatnatyam, and spending time with loved ones.

I’m originally from the UK, I began my career in optics on the fashion side, helping people choose the perfect frames and working directly with patients. Nine years ago, my husband and I, along with our four children, made the move to Austin, Texas, a city we now love for its vibrant culture and endless activities.

In my free time, I enjoy DIY projects, whether it's crafting home decor or refurbishing furniture. Family time is incredibly important to me, and I cherish every moment spent with my husband and kids, whether we're exploring Austin's parks or enjoying a cozy movie night at home.

Professionally, I am fortunate to work at Wink Optical and Eye Care with the incredible Dr. Gohel. I love the boutique feel of our practice, which allows us to provide a level of personal service that is both friendly and relaxing. At Wink, every patient is treated with the utmost care and attention, creating an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and comfortable.

Looking ahead, I am excited about the possibilities for growth and development in my role at Wink. My goal is to continue enhancing the personalized experience we provide, ensuring that each visit to Wink is nothing short of exceptional.

As an optician with three years of experience, I’m passionate about helping my customers look and feel their best through eyewear. While I don’t perform eye exams, I specialize in fitting both glasses and contact lenses, ensuring that each client gets the most suitable options for their needs. I take the time to suggest lenses that match their lifestyle and preferences, whether it's for daily comfort, style, or visual clarity.

To me, picking eyewear is like choosing the perfect accessory – it should enhance your look while meeting your health needs. I provide an objective perspective, whether you're leaning toward something budget-friendly or a premium option. My main goal is your complete satisfaction. I want you to leave with eyewear that you’re not just happy with but that also boosts your confidence and comfort.

When I’m not helping clients find their ideal pair of glasses, you’ll find me spending quality time with my family, enjoying a cozy movie night, sipping coffee, reading books, or having a good laugh with loved ones. I’m a firm believer in the importance of a sense of humor and personal connection, which I strive to bring into every interaction.

Chandresh & Shobhana Gohel

We can’t talk about Wink without talking about these two. Dr. Gohel is the proud daughter of two of the hardest working individuals she has ever met. Chandresh and Shobhana Gohel played an integral part in the start of Wink Optical and Eye Care in that they are responsible for raising their daughter to be the ambitious and successful woman she is today. Being the daughter of immigrants, Dr. Gohel saw first hand the tough climb her parents had to make to achieve their own success, and in a foreign land. Winks founding is rooted in the very dogma that her culture and family instilled within her, which is to be kind, and care for all. Thank you parents :)
